Ashley Social Enterprise is a group of mini-enterprises that provide pathways and livelihoods for students with ASC. We currently earn our revenue from running a cafe, conferencing and selling holidays; however we are keen to pursue other revenue streams. We do not do this to create shareholder value; we do this to create community value - making a positive impact is our central purpose.
When we think about community value, we believe in the positive impact that our enterprises will have on the community with which we work. We aim to create an impact by what we do with our profits, and how we work day to day.
The Vision of Ashley Social Enterprise is to improve the employment and life opportunities for students with ASC.
The mission of Ashley Social Enterprise is to create mini-enterprises that provide pathways and livelihoods for students with ASC. We seek to achieve financial benefits by operating commercially viable businesses in a range of markets. By training in an active business environment students' learn job readiness skills in a range of vocational areas; whilst also addressing life skills - communication, accountability, problem solving and goal setting. These skills allow students to go on to lead successful, self-sufficient and fulfilling lives creating a new future for themselves, their families, our community and our economy.
There are currently four companies that make up the Social Enterprise - Ashley Cybercafe, Ashley Travel, Ashley Conferencing and Ashley Business Administration. We seek to grow these businesses as well as generating new ones.
Ashley Travel is an independent travel agent; we work in conjunction with Overseas Experience - an independent Travel Agent with over 35 years' experience in the travel industry. We are a member of The Global Travel Group so any travel we organise will be financially protected and ATOL bonded. We offer quality products at competitive prices and can arrange all aspects of travel from business to leisure. We specialise in Autistic friendly holidays.
Ashley Conferencing is run by students studying for a City and Guilds qualification in Hospitality and Catering. We offer a climate controlled and fully IT enabled room for up to 48 delegates, providing a secure and professional environment to hold meetings for small or large groups complete with projector and wireless access. Reserved, on-site parking and corporate hospitality provide added comfort and are available at a nominal cost.
